BRITTANY MORBIHAN golfe du morbihan

Golfe du Morbihan is a 20km wide gulf of over 60 islands and islets, which are known for their beautiful scenery. Shallow coasts, pretty flowerbeds and rocky outcrops are just some of the features of this protected maritime space. It is also home to good oysters and a large group of birdlife. Once a well-trafficked sea route, the gulf still sports a few ports, bays (e.g the port of Aurray) and a couple of seaside resorts (e.g. Larmor-Baden). The gulf is also referred to as the Baie of Morbihan in certain maps and drawings, as it underwent a few name changes during the 20th century
